Acting Technique: Foundations

A beginner course focused on specific acting techniques and musical theatre audition prep. Runs Oct 5 – Nov 23, 8 weekly sessions, taught by Elena Petrova, limited to 16 participants.

Foundations of Presence

Introduction to core concepts of stage presence, focus, and connecting with an audience.

Voice and Movement

Techniques for vocal projection, articulation, and using physicality to build character.

Character Analysis

Breaking down scripts to understand character motivations, objectives, and relationships.

Scene Study I

Applying analytical skills to short scenes with a partner. Focus on listening and reacting.

Improvisation Techniques

Building spontaneity and creative thinking through guided improvisation exercises.

Emotional Truth

Methods for accessing and safely conveying genuine emotion in a performance.

Scene Study II

Rehearsing and refining scene work with in-depth coaching and feedback.

Performance Showcase

Performing final scenes and receiving comprehensive feedback and next steps.

Policies / Certification

Refund Policy

Full refund up to 14 days before course start. After start date: refunds prorated only for medical reasons with documentation. Transfers to future term allowed up to 7 days before first class (admin fee applies).

Certification

A certificate of completion will be provided to all students who attend at least 80% of sessions.

No prior experience is necessary for the Beginner level. For Intermediate, previous workshop experience is recommended.

Will sessions be recorded?

Yes — recorded sessions are available for 30 days after each class for review.
